Welcome to the marsh!

This is a dragon's lair, a place meant to store all of the digital goodies I like to collect, from words to stamps, blinkies to neat animals, cool sites to fun facts. This page is strongly driven by sentimentality, the desire to share my findings, and to get better at HTML & CSS. However, I am not a dragon. I am usually some other miscellaneous creature. But this is my lair, so treat the stuff here as you would in a stranger's home - with respect!

The side bars contain a quick glance at some of the goods I have yet to share. NOTES contains any relevant warnings. UPDATES is self-explanatory (lists my latest updates to the site). ANIMAL HIGHLIGHT features a random animal I'm aware of, some scientific info, a little blurb, and some fun facts if available. It is manually written and updated by me so there's no specific time when it changes, but may be influenced by site traffic.

WORD HIGHLIGHT features a random word from my own list of favorite words. It is also manually updated by me, but may receive faster updates since there's a lot less to write. COOL SITES links to neocities websites that I'm really fond of. MARSH GUARDIANS are my little virtual pets that I adopted. I'm always on the lookout for more. If you have more... please contact me... XD

Oh, and please also contact me if you own any images / assets here and want proper credit or complete removal. I do my best to grab from free-to-use sources, and I try to credit accordingly, but I may overlook some things.

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Right now I actually have no way to receive that feedback,,, at some point I'll set up a chatbox and link my email somewhere. In the meantime tell your feedback to the nearest lightning-bug and it'll make its way over to me eventually.

As of 5/30/26, this website consists of only this front page (and the warning page, I suppose). I plan to add a lot more stuff - this is to be an archive of my interests - but it will take a little while to set everything up. In the meantime I hope you enjoy what I have here so far, and feel free to say hi to my little pets.

ANIMAL HIGHLIGHT | 5/25

Leptailurus serval - Least Concern
[ Felinae - Felidae - Carnivora - Mammalia - Chordata ]

The serval is a wild cat found in Africa, particularly in the southern regions. Notably, it has a small head and gangly legs, tall ears, a relatively short tail, and dark spots & stripes on a buff background. It's around 2 feet (~60 cm) tall at the shoulder. It prefers habitats such as grasslands, wetlands, and bamboo thickets. This feline is, of course, a carnivore, mainly preying on small animals like rodents, frogs, and small birds, although bigger animals like waterfowl & duikers are also hunted on occasion. They may live around 10 years in the wild, and longer in captivity.

  • servals have the longest legs of all cats relative to body size
  • they can leap a distance of up to 11ft 10in (~3 meters)
  • the name 'serval' comes from lobo-cerval, from Latin lupus cervarius - "wolf" & "of or pertaining to deer"
